Casa del Cipresso is a traditional village house in the historic “Antico Borgo” section of Calitri, Italy. Restored inside and out, this medieval hill town home still retains all it’s local charm and characteristics. It is located very near a coffee bar, restaurant, bakery, grocery shop, Internet cafe, and weekly open-air market. It is an easy stroll, though the labyrinth of streets and that make up the Calitri Borgo (medieval section,) to the “new” portion of Calitri (about a 10 minute walk); there you will find a larger selection shops, restaurants, and all the usual town amenities. The accommodation consists of an open kitchen beneath the original stone archway, living/dining area with a wood burning fireplace, master bedroom with queen bed and en-suite bathroom, and a cozy sleep loft with two twin beds. Owners, Nicole and Daniel, have been vacation homeowners in Calitri, Italy and sharing their home-away-from-home with other travelers since 2007. The colorful streets, charming houses, delightful neighbors, and delicious food, captured their hearts from the very first moment they “discovered” this gem of a town in Southern Italy! Nicole grew up in America and Daniel in Ireland, however, Italy is where they usually long to be. When they are not staying at Casa del Cipresso in Calitri, they reside in the New York City suburbs, where they are are raising their teenager and toddler.
